Marie - The Bed

Als mich Marie Ende Mai in Karlsruhe besucht hat, war das eine der ersten Serien, die wir fotografiert haben. Obwohl ich in diesem Studio schon sehr oft gearbeitet habe, war ich zuvor noch nie auf der Galerie, um von oben zu fotografieren. Interessant war für mich, dass ich dort relativ eingeengt und statisch fotografieren musste – praktisch nur von einer Position aus. Das war ganz anders als sonst, da ich mich während einer Serie normalerweise viel um das Modell herum bewege, um verschiedene Blickwinkel einzufangen.

When Marie visited me in Karlsruhe at the end of May, this was one of the first shoots we did together. Even though I’ve worked in this studio many times, I had never photographed from the gallery above before. What I found interesting was that I was pretty much boxed in and had to shoot from just one spot—much more static than usual. Normally, I move around a lot during a session to capture different angles of the model, so this was a completely different experience for me.
