Sketchbook A- Gestures, Life Drawing and Concepts

This is pretty rare...in fact I don’t think I’ve ever sold any of my sketchbooks before, but in the interest of making a little space in my office and covering some of my Eurofurence expenses I’ve decided to part ways with three of my precious sketchbooks!

This sketchbook starts out a little technically, with the majority of the first pages being gesture sketching. If you’re a beginner artist and looking to learn how I “see” the gesture of the form, this should be really interesting for you. After that, I move into studies of the arm, leg, and torso before the fun begins! Concepts for characters and symbols for the Waystone series I never used, concepts for pages that were never drawn (though I still might use the ideas) and lots more gesture and anatomy sketches!

Near the end of the book I start actually sketching ideas for commissions and scenes I had in mind at the time, while also doing some life drawing at the British Museum (there’s a Guardian statue in there I’m really proud of).
