Modding Tool + Voice Acting + Cutscenes - Update #27

Hey everyone! Another update is coming your way. ✈️

Cutscene Finalization ?️

One of the main things we've been working on this month is the cutscenes! Our leading cutscene artist has been working hard to finalize our storyboard sketches. As a result, many improvements have been made!

The framework for playing storyboards is already in the latest build, so dropping the finalized images will be easy. We believe this will significantly enhance the experience of Beat Banger.✨ 

Voice Actor Casting Call ?️

We've been looking for voice actors to play the characters in each cutscene and provide sexy ? sounds for the in-game experience. So far, we've got a lot of auditions in. But if you're interested, you can find information about how to audition for us here. 

New Modding Tool (BBCharter) ⚒️

We've been a bit slow to get the build out this month since we're cleaning everything up for shipping to Steam. This month's Patreon build will probably be out in the next few days once I update Gale and Dawna's charts in the system. to speed up this process, I've made a new modding tool.

This new tool allows you to select a level folder and automatically loads all assets needed to modify the level.

You can also easily change which difficulty you're modifying and add new difficulties.

The modding tool's source code is public and will remain public forever. So if you have Godot 4 installed, you can now use this modding tool! First, download the source code from our public repository. Then, load the godot project. 

Currently, the charting tool can only load and modify pre-existing charts for the game's newest version. However, support for creating new levels from scratch will be coming soon.

Official Steamdeck (Linux) Support ?️

We're preparing for the official game release by working towards maximum platform compatibility. On release, it's planned work for: 

• Windows 64-bit, 
• Windows 32-bit, 
• macOS,
• Linux (That includes the steam deck!)

Stay tuned for this month's release, it will be mostly backend changes, but it will allow people to get ready to start making mods for the official steam release version of Beat Banger!
