Started this last month and I've been chipping away at it. The goal for me here was to figure out the actual process I would use to make comics, from layouts to art style, etc. No better way to learn than by doing, right? It was certainly an interesting experience.
For the artstyle, I was originally going for something more sketchy but I ended up deciding it was a bit too messy for what I wanted. What I've been doing for speedpaints looks a bit cleaner. I originally wanted to keep the lineart for a more comic-y look but that was a mistake. They're a massive pain in the ass with the way I work. Next time I do this I'm ditching them.
I'm proud of how the panel layout flows for a beginner attempt. I just hope the the motion lines, onomatopoeia and other effects are alright. I don't usually do that kind of thing at all, so I drew pretty heavily from some comics by Fluff-Kevlar and Meesh to figure it out. I hope it works.
I'd like to do some more stuff like this and work on the artstyle I want to use a bit more. Hopefully not too long before I feel confident enough to start tackling bigger projects with actual stories. I hope y'all enjoy this in the meantime.
