RUN DEMON RUN! - Process Video + PSD File

Because I was writing an article about drawing legs and feet, I thought it would make sense to create characters inspired by muscular animals, horses for instance. I chose basketball as a second layer for this concept based on the sport's popularity and the athletic look of these kinds of professionals, plus I think it would be a great excuse to make interesting color choices in t-shirts, shorts, and shoes. Additionally, as a third layer of the concept, I thought 'demons' would make sense based on the original references to the horses, which had a bit of a dark and mysterious vibe. Adding devil or demon symbols like horns and tails would also make the composition rich in terms of shapes.

As for colors, making both uniforms red as part of the same team was my first choice, but after a while, I thought blue would fit better for the white character, and red for the dark one. This also helped me play with different themes for each team, like logos and uniform patterns, mostly 'fire' oriented. Shadows were a bit crazy with this one, playing around with different cold tones for the white character, and very dark ones for the black character.
