Exciting moments were as simple as regaling stories of prize fishing catches told at the tavern, the teller drinking more, the story being gloated and exaggerated at a proportional rate as the ale being washed down.

Simple pleasures ran rampant. A wedding or two a season, and the bearing of children at least as often. From sewing season to harvest time, a plentitude of activity. And, of course, the festivals!

With the festival of the falling blossoms less than a fortnight away, the generally quiet town bustled with more activity than even the Autumn harvest. Even the rumors of war on the frontier moving ever closer, none held a belief that it could reach their home. After generations of seclusion and peace, how could it be expected to change? Besides, preparations to be made were weighing on everyone's mind. The festival does not wait!"
