Another First!

Whenever someone asks me What was your first cosplay it always feels like a bit of a trick question.

Are we talking about the first superhero suit I pieced together for Halloween? The first costume I actually debuted at a convention? Or do they mean the very first project I specifically set out to create as a cosplay? I find myself giving a slightly different answer depending on the situation, but one thing is set in stone: Aquaman was the first professional cosplay shoot I ever did with Shaun.

Now, if we are getting technical, we actually shot Robin first but since that was just for a Halloween party and I had not quite embraced the cosplayer title yet, let us just keep that between us! Shhh.

I have said it a million times, but I loved Aquaman long before he was cool. Back when everyone else was busy hating on him, I was drawn to him for that exact reason. He felt like me. He knew his own worth and his own power, even while the rest of the world wrote him off as lame. I will not dive too deep into the weeds right now because I still get weirdly emotional about it, but today is all about the memories.
