Monsters of a mysterious and dark melancholic beauty, have up until recently been solely tied to being harbingers of bad news. Often said to appear to people on the verge of death, weeping and wailing a terrible cry which ends the lives of those who hear it, it has in fact been discovered that they merely foresee the deaths of others who are saddened by the death and suffering of humans.

Compassionate to a fault, Banshees who have seen the spreading loneliness of the modern age have taken it upon themselves to no longer merely be content with being foretellers of fate but try to take an active role to avert such untimely ends by providing their own companionship far sooner with the intention being that no one should have to die alone at the very least.

This policy change has come about following the rise of the Demon Lord who had in turn made a pact with Hel, Goddess of Life and Death following receiving many requests from hopeful Banshees who had grown tired of the last minute policy. The result has been a spontaneous increase in Banshees showing up several years to several decades prior to the date of a deceased person, often quickly invited into the home as an effort to console the wailing liminal and prevent awkward scenes on the street which could be misinterpreted as something more sinister.

Not everyone is afforded this policy however as Banshees are dispatched to only those who are seen to be the most in need of companionship. This long waiting period has been often followed through by an observable change in some more devoted Banshees who make further efforts to prolong their target’s life, encouraging healthy eating and exercise by directly taking unhealthy foods from their wards and making an effort to demonstrate what could happen to them if left unchecked. While seen as unnecessarily devoted at first, this has vastly impacted Banshee waistlines as she attempts to continuously remind her ward of just how many years she has saved them as she continues to grow ‘for their sake.’ In households where wards have been particularly stubborn or self destructive, this has occasionally devolved into a pure battle of unhealthy will resulting in some extremely large and lazy Banshee girls indeed.

Banshees, like most monster girls, are often sensitive to their sizes and are easily moved to tears when teased or find their efforts under-appreciated. Besides the death of humans, they also weep over a lot of little things which can sometimes arouse the carnal desires of those who overhear them. If their ward is sad, they may shed tears as if it were their own sadness, comforting both themselves and their ward by consuming large bowls of strawberry icecream. Likewise, being praised for their size may also move them to tears of joy which in turn results in them radiating a strong sense of ecstasy that often results in matters moving to the bedroom, accompanied by more strawberry ice cream.

Once exposed to a Banshee’s cry in either form, the listener is automatically cursed to rise upon death as an undead, to be reunited with their government issued Banshee who welcomes them into the fold of the next life. This is Hel’s unbreakable oath which the goddess has bestowed upon the lonely members of humanity so that all might at least have a soft and huggable soft someone waiting for them on the other side
