MY BOYFRIEND IS A SUPERHERO ANNUAL #1 - "CREATURE" - PAGE 01. Letters.

And finally... the LETTERS! It's with great pleasure and excitement that I'm sharing "CREATURE" PAGE 01 from the MY BOYFRIEND IS A SUPERHERO ANNUAL #1!

As you know, I've taken over both the writing AND the illustrating duties on this title, and while following in ALEXANDER'S incredible artistic footsteps is a nearly impossible task, I hope you'll enjoy seeing BYRON and FELIX through my eyes for this all-new adventure.

It's hard to put in words how much I am LOOOOVING this project. I've been writing the MBIAS adventures for a number of years now, but actually having the opportunity to illustrate the stories feels incredible. Believe it or not, I don't think I was ready for this until just now. Projects like my X-MEN parody comics and GAY FOR SLAY had to conclude before I could tackle this, but I also think they had to happen so that I could approach MBIAS with a new visual perspective and dynamism.

It's difficult for me to not wonder "what would ALEXANDER have done here? How would he have approached this panel"... and YES, it's hard to not think "ALEXANDER would have done this so much better"...! RuPaul would undoubtedly call that the voice of my inner saboteur. But I've completed several pages from "CREATURE" now, and I'm happy to report that I think I've settled into my own visual rhythm... and that for the most part, I've managed to quiet that nagging voice.

ALEXANDER did a PHENOMENAL JOB on the MY BOYFRIEND IS A SUPERHERO series -- that's just a fact! But he moved on, and the show MUST go on. I hope that my take on it won't feel too jarring or different. I mean, this is COMICS, after all! Artists come and go on titles all the time... and I suppose there's something that's kind of "correct" about my now illustrating two of my oldest, most beloved creations. I'd like to think that I've come home ot FELIX and BYRON... and at the moment, we're all of us nestled into a gorgeous beach house by the sea.

Come join us... I think we're all going to have a FABULOUS and very, VERY NAUGHTY time together! XD
