BMZ - A very Boomer Christmas (3/3) (WIP & PSD)
As shown last time, I'm homesick and you people will have to deal with it.
On the first panel they're having the Vitel Toné from the last strip plus potato salad. Considering that it's summer in December in the southern hemisphere you're more likely to find cold foods in Christmas tables. I didn't have time to draw a bottle of coke and Fernet but that's what they're having (apologies in advance to Italian patrons).
For the second panel, playing cards with your family is also a classic. They're playing truco here, which I invite you to check out the wikipedia page for just to see how unnecessarily complicated it is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truco
Truco uses the Spanish deck, so I of course made the cards that have people in them bulls. I did not depict an 11 because that's a mounted knight and where would I even start wit that.
And finally the last two panels show drinking champagne at midnight. It's common for kids to stay up until midnight to get their presents, so parents have to get a little more creative when it comes to explaining how Santa (or rather, Papá Noel) dropped the presents at the doorstep. By the time they get to Zoomer's age they stop doing that, naturally, but... as previously established, it hasn't exactly sunk in for him yet.
