Accompanying Story:
Koi was back in her parent's place for the holidays. After moving her backpack and box with her amenities back into her room, she laid down on her childhood bed.

Finn, Koi's younger brother, was back to the family home too, but he arrived a night before Koi did. The gluttonous Koi was a bit peckish from the long flight from her school in Pennsylvania and the terrible airplane food.

Finn was in the kitchen heating up leftovers from their parents' dinner from last night.

"Is that all of it?" Koi pointing at the leftovers in the microwave.

"Yeah. There is ramen and spam in the cabinet. Also eggs in the fridge, though." Finn gestured towards the fridge and kitchen cabinet.

"Ugh, enough of that cheap food. Already had my fill of that in the dorms," Koi groaned as she scans the kitchen for anything more edible.

There it is. A wrapped bag from McDonalds.

"Hey, Finn. Is that yours?" Koi pointing at the McDonalds bag on the dining table.

Finn says as he is taking out the leftovers from the microwave, "Yeah I Doordash'd some McDonalds yesterday when I got here. You can take whatever is left from there. The restaurant accidentally gave me extra stuff too."

Great! Koi's stomach growls. Finally, something good enough to eat.

Koi unwraps the McDonalds bag as Finn brings his meal to the living room.

"Bruh," Koi bruhed with agony. It was literally four McDonalds chocolate chip cookies. She was really wanting something savory, not sweet.

Still, it was food. Koi brought the cookies to her room and opens her laptop. She watches a Dragonball What If video as she munches on all of the cookies.

Hours pass as Koi lounges around the family home waiting for actual, savory food.

"Wait a minute! There is a Wendy's three blocks away from here!" Koi exclaimed.

Koi walks to Finn's room and asks, "Yo, want to go to Wendy's with me?"

"Sure, why not," Finn says as he lumbers towards the door.

Koi takes her mom's car and drives to Wendy's with Finn in the passenger seat. She passes her old high school and local plaza with the sushi restaurant that she frequented.

But who cares about that!? There it is. Wendy's. Koi pulls the car to the drive-thru.

"Hello. What do you want?" the speaker by the drive-thru menu screamed.

Koi looks at her options. It seems like the Pretzel Bacon Pub Burger has returned to participating locations. However, she had that a couple weeks ago on a date.

"Yeah, I am still deciding," Koi replies.

"Alright, I ask again in a couple minutes," the fast food employee replied through the speaker.

"This reminds me of the time I had the Pretzel Bacon Pub Burger on a date back in NGCC," Koi tells Finn.

It was a couple weeks ago. Koi was really hungry but had little cash to her name. She had a weird text sent to her. It read, "Do you want to go on a date with me? ?"

She texts back, "Who are you? How did you get my #????????"

"Chairs? what you mean? Its me, Jeremy. i sit back of you in Twitter 101."

"How did you get my number tho???????????????"

"Chairs again? I got it from a mutual friend."

"oh okay. what did you want??"

"i was asking if you wanted to go on a date? Ive been seeing you around campus and you seem really cool.. if you dont want to its okay?"

"hm okay. wendys and you pay???"

"yeah sure! I am so glad you accepted. 2 pm okay??" Jeremy typed trying to conform to Koi's weird texting.

"Why did you send a chair emoji? that's weird. but yeah 2 is okay," Koi texted back

Koi smirked knowing she will be getting a free meal today. She didn't know what to wear for a date. She called up her friend Ano about dates.

"Guys really like it when you wear really unrevealing clothes or anything not cute or sexy. They get more nervous if you wear something that would make you attractive," Ano replied jokingly.

"Okay, I'll do that," Koi says as she hangs up.

"Wait-" Ano replying but then seeing the call then. "That was... a joke."

Koi stares in front of the mirror. Since it was getting colder now, Koi had a sweater on and long leather pants.

"Hm, this is not enough according to Ano's instructions." Koi thought to herself.

Koi puts on a Minions: Rise of Gru inflatable suit from Halloween this year.

"Alright! Time for lunch!" Koi exclaimed.

Jeremy is waiting by the dorms entrance. He is a tall sophomore from Germany. He has messy dark brown hair and a well groomed face. He is wearing a long cream coat over a knitted sweater and slacks with the cuffs rolled up and pinned. He is also wearing leather gloves to keep warm.

Coming down the stairs, Koi fumbles and falls down to the first floor as the Minions: Rise of Gru inflatable suit pops in front of Jeremy.

"Hey!!" Koi said embarrassed under a shriveled Minions: Rise of Gru inflatable suit.

Jeremy, confused with Koi's behavior, lends her a hand. He notices that Koi has a few cuts on her face.

"We should probably go to the nurses' office nearby to get some bandages first!" Jeremy says as Koi dusts herself off.

"Yeah probably." Koi smiled with her eyes closed a little bit and hand on her head.

At the nurses' office, Jeremy pulls out a few bandages and lovingly lays them on each cut after swabbing them with isopropyl alcohol first.

"Ow!" Koi screams as the swab touches her cuts.

"Don't worry, it's only going to hurt a little," Jeremy laughs as he proceeds to the next cut.

Koi all bandaged up, walks with Jeremy to the on-campus food court. Jeremy's heart is wrapping in and out in loops. He can't believe Koi actually agreed to go on a date with him. But Wendy's is a bit pedestrian for Jeremy's liking.

"What kinda accent is that?" Koi asked.

"I am from Germany. I am an exchange student living in the same dorm as you. I learned English from a young age but from a German tutor so I still have the accent." Jeremy laughs and wipes his eye. A little part of a leaf got into his eye.

Koi grabs the leaf off of Jeremy's eye. "You got something there."

"Yeah, thanks!" Jeremy said, "So where are you from?"

"I am from California, Surf City specifically. I drove my 2003 Honda Civic with my friend Ano across a lot of state lines to get here," Koi replied.

"Wow, looks like you visited a lot of states on the way here, huh?"

"Just a little. I dunno. Didn't do much but drive. Why you assuming?"

"I didn't mean much by that, sorry."

"Why do you go to be sorry for?"

"Yeah, sorry- I mean, sorry- I mean, I apologize too often. Bit of a character flaw."

"Character flaw? You ain't a character. You are a real person," Koi confused by the comment.

"What?" Jeremy also confused, "You sure are weird huh? What was with the Minions costume?"

"It is a Minions: Rise of Gru, Kevin costume. My friend said it was good to dress in really unrevealing clothes and anything not cute or sexy for a date."

"I think she was joking."

"I don't think so."

"Are you sure?"

"Maybe. I'll ask her about it later."

The two arrives at the food court. There was a Panda Express, Sbarro's, Burger King, Cinnabon, Auntie Anne's, and there it is, Wendy's.

"Why did you want to get Wendy's in the first place?" Jeremy asked.

"Because I was hungry," Koi replied with her stomach growling.

"I could have driven us to somewhere, a little more. Better?"

"Nah. I don't want to wastes yours moneys or anything."

Jeremy is overwhelmed with emotion. For the first in his life, a girl not after his money or acclaim. Little did Koi or the reader know, Koi doesn't really know or care. She was just craving Wendy's but didn't have Wendy's money. Koi is just a simple girl that wants to eat a delicious fast food burger with fries and maybe a Frosty.

"Hello!" the Wendy's employee greeted, "Did you know the Pretzel Bacon Pub Burger is back in participating locations? Do you want to try one?"

"Hm, a Pretzel, and bacon, and a pub, and burger all in one package?" Koi drooled with excitement.

"I think it is just a Pretzel bun with bacon and the normal toppings of a burger," Jeremy trying to calm Koi down, "But yeah, we will get two of those, please."

"Would you like to make those a meal?" the worker replied.

Koi looked at Jeremy with sad puppy eyes. "Please?"

"S-sure thing." Jeremy replied, handing the worker his credit card.

"Did you also want to make that a large?" the worker grinned.

Koi looked even harder at Jeremy with her big ol' eyes. A line to the Wendy's has formed and the people behind them seem to be impatient.

"Fine. Yeah, sure. I'll have a Coke," replied Jeremy.

"Coke Zero for me!!" replied Koi.

"Sorry, we are out of Coke Zero," replied the worker.

"Diet Coke is also fine," replied Koi with disappointment.

The two picks their order up and walk to an empty table. The food is laid out onto the table by Koi. There are two Double Pretzel Bacon Pub Burgers, two large fries, and two large soft drinks.

Koi bites into the burger and lights up. "Yummers!!"

Jeremy bites into his burger and is unimpressed, "It is alright."

When they were both down eating, Jeremy walks Koi back up to her dorm.

"See you later. It was fun. Maybe again soon?" Koi asked.

"Yeah, most definitely," replied Jeremy.

Back with Koi and Finn at the Wendy's drive-thru menu, Koi finishes telling the story.

"Yeah, that's how I was able to try the returning Pretzel Bacon Pub Burger," Koi tells Finn.

"Hello? Hello? You guys are holding up the line. You got to order something quick," the speaker roared.

"Yeah, can I get a biggie bag with Ghost Pepper ranch and a Bourbon Bacon Double," Koi replied.
