Charmander came to Paldea from a distant province, and the team's Salazzle took an immediate liking to him; it seems that Charmander just wants to be friends with her, but Salazzle has more feelings for him than that.

Incidentally, this is based on the real-life experience of a client who brought Charmander from LeafGreen cartridge through Pokemon Home.
