Inside The Temple of Baba-Set [SKETCHES]

Hey gang,

You can probably tell I'm having so much fun banging out new pages of Legend of Baba-Set. So much so that I'm pacing myself so I don't share and spoil too much too soon!

Here, Aphrodite enters the pyramid, the Temple of Baba-Set. I wanted to evoke the early pages of my previous Brides of Baba-Set, in which the bound heroines are led slowly down a long staircase and through darkened hallways before meeting the great bull-ape himself. The tension and drama of that sequence is unlike so much of my other work and hopefully makes Baba more scary and ominous, like the shark in Jaws!

As I've said, this story also allows me to play with scale, pacing, and tone in ways a lot of my other works don't. Stay tuned for more later this week!
