Palace of Smokeless Fire - new character sheet
I’m thrilled to introduce to you the RPG mechanics in Palace of Smokeless Fire. I imported them from my previous game project and so far they are working great within the context of a first person shooter adventure. Upgrading these stats and skills will be crucial to Sophia’s survival within the labyrinth and in defending herself against its powerful lady guardians. Skills can be increased on level up, while the four attributes (strength, dexterity, endurance, volition) may be improved by hidden items and certain eating foods. Below is a summary of what each attribute and skill does. Bear in mind this is only in the very early build of the game and these may be subject to change.
Strength - primarily affects Sophia’s melee damage and kick attack
Dexterity - primarily affects damage with firearms and very slightly affects critical hit chance
Endurance - gives Sophia extra hit points, reduces fall damage, and affects survivability
Volition - affects Sophia’s magic ability when she finds magic items in the labyrinth
Evasion - there is a small but random chance that enemy attacks that should hit will miss automatically; evasion increases that chance
Brutal Styles - strongly increases the random chance of getting a critical hit on an enemy
Survival - there is a small chance that an attack that would incapacitate Sophia will instead leave her with 1 HP; survival increases that chance, and also reduces the chance of her getting poisoned
Remedies - improves the effectiveness of healing items
Mechanics - improves the chance of disarming traps or lockpicking certain doors
Historical Lore - useful for some puzzles that may grant extra experience
Esoteric Lore - useful for some puzzles that may grant extra experience
Also I intend to have the Sophia portrait on the right reflect her appearance as she eats a lot and gains weight.
