Going back to charcoal practice☕️
Hi everyone!
This is what I’m currntly working on? I used to work with charcoal when studying Fine Arts, it was much easier to create big pieces with this medium than with graphite. But I have a love-hate relationship with it still to this day!
I love the plently of textures you can create with it, the quickness and the spontaneous strokes. But at the same time it’s really hard to work on details? That’s why I decided to try and combine charcoal and graphite together for quicker pieces as these ones and I’m falling in love with the medium again!
I want (and need) to spend the evening relaxing like this, it helps me so much with anxiety✨ It also makes me so excited to start projects like this one, that are a little different from what I’m used to.
I would love to present some of my favorite drawings to art contests, that help young artists so much!! I’ve been wanting to do it for so long but never did it because it always feels like my work isn’t enough, but this need to change✋?
Have you tried this medium before? I really recommend it if you’re trying to work on speed or values✨
Note: I use these tools (from last picture) to work with powdered charcoal. It’s actually so satisfying to use so much different then using regular sticks of charcoal. They’re also used for pan pastel!!
