February’s Postcards sending on 2/10 - Okuda-san “Bijin Hime” Variety!

This variety of Japanese strawberries is not just big, aromatic, sweet and red - it’s been engineered by one man for 13 years to be perfect. Usually the prefecture has a team at JA to make regional varieties resistant to cold, disease etc. Okuda-san did it himself and wow - that sweetness lingers! The super sized ones go for $350, for one! Packaged jewelry, but well, you eat it. I will return in 2/20 to film the mega sized ones for an episode. He’s like the strawberry Steve Jobs!
