sweat, snot, and tears
foley and i had been in barcelona for just a few days at this point, but had already jam-packed in a whole freaking lot. we’d taught a day long workshop, performed, stayed up way too late, and spent probably just a little too much time wandering the streets in the direct sun. we were both a bit disregulated, to say the least. so we slowed down, we found time to tie just for us (a rare treat) in the sunny tatami nook of stuart’s apartment.
there was something special about this tie, and i know i say that a lot. it’s rare that i can drop in so deeply during a tie in private (something i’ve learned about myself in the past few years is that my intensity thrives with an audience). it’s even rarer i get to document that intensity in a way that feels authentic, when it’s just two of us. so these photos feel particularly special, and particularly vulnerable.
so here: a glimpse into the intensity i strive for, the intensity i find so difficult to find, the intensity reserved only for the people i’m closest to.
