ORDE-Tokyo-0.2 Historical Summary - Jan-Aug 46

Out of all the unit histories kept at the US National Archives, this is the only one to even mention the enemy ordnance brought back to the states for examination/preservation. Tokyo Ordnance Depot is to the Japanese theater as Depot 0-644 (Paris) was to the ETO, its the point through which all captured tanks and vehicles went in order to be shipped to the USA. Unfortunately the list in this file is only for June 1946; the proper records of what was shipped have either been destroyed or lost, or they have been retained by the US Army's archives. If the latter is correct, it is a true shame, since the Army archives does not allow their material to be used freely. They do not allow researchers to bring equipment into their archives, and try to extort money by charging 40 dollars for every photo scan.
