Rise of the Silver Surfette!
I learned a lot making this set. Andrew Price talks a lot about Bezier curves but he never impressed on me their usefulness. It turns out that they can be applied to planes to make waves. I was obsessed with the idea of creating a Shalla-Bal-type character and having her ride waves. A suitable character model was already available with the emphasis on suit. Her equipment is non-removable, unfortunately. She still has an exposed butt and I'll be able to easily create a Futa variant. I put extra time into the feet and was well-rewarded. I also found DAZ's water asset which makes nice ripples. I was able to apply that texture to the curved planes I made in Blender. It looks far better than what ou can easily make with Blender's Ocean modifier.
There were a couple of setbacks. I had to rerender all of the scenes. Having an outdoor scene with only a couple of models makes for instantaneous rendering. The downside is that the resulting images had all kinds of firefly pixels. The only way top filter them out completely was to use DAZ's awesome post-render denoise feature. It puts Affinity and Topaz's filters to shame but it can only be applied the moment the rendering finishes. I also made use of the Sun Sky Only rendering feature, as I have done often lately. This produces a blank sky image that I can easily fill in with layering stock photos in post. It's virtual green screen.
This is just the appetizer. She's alone, deep in the water with plenty of privacy for getting down with herself later. I also know exactly what I want her partner to look like. I want her to have long, red hair, gills and webbed toes. I'll se what I can find out there to make that an easy reality.
