Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky (1991)

"You'll die mutilated today!"

OK, hear me out. This is one of those films that's so bad it's actually brilliant!

Riki-Oh has some kind of superhuman power that makes him incredibly strong, like ridiculously strong. Oh, and he also knows martial arts! He gets put into a prison where the prisoners are treated like slaves, and he is forced to use his strength against the powers that be. The story is kinda silly, and the acting is..... yikes
However, you guys know I'm a massive fan of practical effects, and this film is stuffed full of them. But it's all head crushing, punching through bodies and skin being ripped off. This is body horror at its best/worst, much akin to films like Brain Dead. It's all gore.... but not scary gore.

Basically, watch this one with a few friends, while eating pizza and having a few drinks. You won't miss the plot, but the good bits will catch your attention. Trust me ?
