MC☆あくしず67号

12月21日にMC☆あくしず67号が発売となります。

今回は『第二次大戦のイギリス爆撃機娘』ということでデ・ハビランド モスキートとアブロ ランカスターの解説を担当しました。

This time, I was in charge of commentary on de Havilland's Mosquito and Avro's Lancaster for 'RAF Bombers of World War II'.

モスキートは古くは映画『633爆撃隊』などで有名ですが、最近でもNetflix配信の映画『その瞳に映るのは』で重要な役割を演じます。どちらの映画でも低空を高速で飛行するモスキートの姿を見ることができます。もしご覧になればとてもすばしっこい爆撃機であることがわかると思います。

Mosquito is famous for movies such as "633 Squadron" in the old days, but more recently it plays an important role in the movie "The Bombardment" on Netflix. In both movies, you can see Mosquito flying at low altitude at high speed. If you look at it, you'll see that it's a very agile bomber.

ところでモスキートは国民党軍も使っていたようです。中国語でも蚊式と呼ばれていたようですが、搭乗員たちがその名をどう思ったのか知りたいところです。

By the way, Mosquito seems to have been used by the Kuomintang army as well. It seems that it was called Mosquito type in Chinese, but I would like to know what kind of impression his crew had with that name.

そしてアブロ・ランカスターです。

映画だと『暁の出撃』(古い映画ですが)などが印象深いかも知れません。

あと『心の地図』という映画でも少しだけランカスターが登場します。『心の地図』はアバンタイトルがとても美しく記憶に残る映画ですが・・・あまりに静かな映画で途中で半分寝てしまったんですけど。映画ではドレスデン空襲のシーンで登場します。

And Avro Lancaster.

For movies, "The Dam Busters" (although it's an old movie) may be impressive.

Also in the movie "Map of the Human Heart" Lancaster makes a brief appearance. "Map of the Human Heart" is a movie whose pretitle is very beautiful and memorable, but it was so quiet that I fell asleep halfway through. In the movie, it appears in the scene of the Dresden air raid.

この4000lb HC(high capacity：大容量)ですが、なんで「大容量」なのかというと通常爆弾は破片効果を狙うために分厚い外殻でできていて、爆弾重量の半分しか爆薬は入っていません。でもこの通称ブロックバスターは爆風効果を狙った爆弾なので爆弾重量の3/4が爆薬重量を占めるほど大量の爆薬が入っています。なので「大容量」なんですね。爆風が凄まじい爆弾なので6000フィート以上で投下しないと飛行機側がダメージを受けてしまうという恐ろしい爆弾です。

図ではモスキートが投弾していますが、もちろんランカスターも搭載できます。

This 4000lb HC (high capacity), but the reason why it is "high capacity" is that normal bombs are made of thick outer shells to aim for fragmentation effects, and only half the weight of the bomb contains explosives. . However, this so-called blockbuster is a bomb aimed at the blast effect, so it contains a large amount of explosives so that 3/4 of the weight of the bomb is the weight of the explosive. That's why it's "large capacity". Because the blast is a tremendous bomb, it is a terrible bomb that the aircraft side will be damaged unless it is dropped at 6000 feet or more.

Mosquito is throwing bomb, but of course Lancaster can also be installed.
