GPU no more
TL:DR my PC died (need to change GPU).
This past Monday my PC died while I was working
Everything was coming along nicely, I was doing great and the images were on schedule. I lost signal on my monitors and the PC wouldn't turn off. I still had power the keyboard and mouse but no response.
At first I thought the power button was faulty so I switched off the power supply and turned it back on after a few secs, then nothing. I immediately contacted an IT acquaintance of mine and asked for help. After I told him what happened he suspected the power supply so he brought a new one to check it. After disconnecting everything and hooking up his power supply there was in fact power to the motherboard but we got no image signal cause this PC ain't got integrated graphics, so he reconnected power to my GPU and there was a puff of smoke coming from somewhere behind the processor's heatsink. He had to take the tower back to he's place to test everything individually.
He sent me a pic when he took the heatsink off and the processor was practically welded to it

I thought for sure it was completely fucked but he managed to separate it using isopropyl alcohol and he tested it on his machine, it still worked! He also took apart my power supply and confirmed that it was ok and working correctly. He managed to identify the GPU was in fact dead, he then after making sure everything else worked, connected one of his GPUs to my machine and it worked.
(My PC his GPU)

I now got my PC back (minus 1 GPU) and I'm in talks with a friend to see if they can help me acquiring a new one as soon as possible.
I'll keep you posted as soon as I have more info to give.
