Reviews:

Inspired by the latest reviewed soul bomb, I set off to the darkest depths of the internet to find the good s***, the literal "hidden gems" that reminds us what's cultured gaming is all about.

And so, I came across by an incredible studio that goes by "SFEMY KATS".
SK's projects are all 100% hand-drawn in a very simplistic style, somewhat resembling the "Shin-chan" anime series. (certainly not a style you see every day..)

SK mostly focused at action and adventure projects, but among these releases, two projects stood out the most: a Rhythm and a Punch-Out games.
Being unable to contain my curiosity, I dived into a world of explicitly lewd nonsense...

⭐Starting out with "Rhythm Chikan":

Basically Rhythm Heaven but lewd.
Not the first time I cover a Rhythm Heaven inspired game, but hopefully not the last either.

?️ For those unfamiliar with the gameplay:
An illustrated event happens on screen, where you must hit the action button at the right timing based on the beat sequence to get a positive outcome.

While in Rhythm heaven you can choose between practice (visible cue) and normal modes (only based on sound), here you start off with visible cue, going into only sound cues until the rest of the song.

Rhythm Chikan takes place in a universe where robots live among humans.
However, these robots appear to be sentient beings full of lust for flesh and blood women.
They are completely shameless, that they'll stick out their long metal rods in broad daylight.

This is where you come in - hit the sound cues to avoid getting caught red-handed with your debauchery.

Each song is split into 3 score segments:
- First part is mostly harassment.
- Second part quickly escalates into more explicitly.
- Third part is a short special scene that appears when perfecting the entire song. (not in all songs)

You need to either make it to the 2nd score tier, or fail a song 5 times in order to unlock the next one.
Finish all stages to unlock "Extra" mode for each song - in Extra mode you get, well... extra scenes to enjoy in a remix of the song you chose.

? Luckily there is an auto mode when hitting Enter instead of Space, where you can just sit and relax while watching the song plays itself out perfectly.
The only downside is that it doesn't show the final CG screen, and there's no way to view those screens separately either.

The songs are catchy, very reminiscent of Rhythm Heaven's style, and the artwork... it may not be top of the class, but it's incredibly charming and hot at the same time.
The same can be said to all of SFEMY KATS' works, and it honestly grows on you after a while!

Not much else to say about this short beautiful gem.
Very well worth your time as both a rhythm games player and if you're looking for a less orthodox and more humorous H content.

⭐ Moving on to "The Dojo Breaker":

Rhythm games aren't my only weakness, but the ever-classic Punch-Out concept has always been alluring to me.

One of the most satisfying skill based gameplay concepts to exist to this day.
The Dojo Breaker is no stranger to challenge, so you better get prepared to get your ass whopped by a bunch of dangerously seductive women.

?️ The controls are very similar to the OG:
Using only the mouse and your right hand (so your left hand is free to write notes...)
The screen is split into 4 invisible parts, as you can see in this diagram:

You can attack or dodge your opponent using LMB / RMB accordingly when clicking at each of the squares.
Your input matters, since every attack comes from a different angle, and your opponent will also dodge from left to right. (or simply block)

Unlike most H games, this is a challenging game!
My best advice would be to get yourself into a rhythm of quickly attacking after the first dodge. Otherwise you can expect follow-up moves that can quickly deplete your health bar if you fail to dodge or block them. (RMB without moving to block)

It does require a bit of trial and error to get used to the timings, but once you get the hang of it, it'll be smooth sailing for the most part.

The battles are split into 3 phases:
1. Base attacks from your opponent.
2. At 50% health a new move will be used against you.
3. At the first KO your opponent will get second wind (50% HP) and use their special move, and will use mix-ups.

? During each battle there is a secret naughty scene that triggers when you hit your opponent at the right timing during one of their moves. These scenes cannot be replayed at the gallery, and there's no clear indication about the requirement for them.
You won't be missing a whole lot if you don't get them, but they're quite entertaining when they do happen.

My favorite part about the whole game is how nicely the H content was implemented as part of the gameplay:
Your final blow will change the lewd act you'll perform with your opponent.

Knock out her face so she'll be too dizzy to resist your urges.
Punch her in the stomach so she'll fall on her knees at the perfect height to service you.
You get the idea...

The scenes are both entertaining and pretty hot to watch.
Legit some of these are better done than a x10 times higher budget title with all the flashy Live2D and After Effects.
There's something about hand drawings that just hits different.

You can replay all of the different KO scenes from the gallery at the main menu, including all the different scenes you missed if you've beaten the game.

Totally worth every sweat and blood drop you puked to reach the end.
A cultured game satisfying in more ways than one is a game to be treasured.

Unfortunately SFEMY KATS seem to be either on hiatus or discontinued.
There are no updates whatsoever about any future releases, hell... there isn't even any information about the artists and programmers behind the projects.

At this point we can only cross our fingers for more wacky, entertaining, but most importantly - SOULFUL (is that even a word?) titles from this incredible studio.

Rhythm Chikan & The Dojo Breaker are available on DLsite.

❤️ For relevant H content of these titles you may contact me in DM for referrals.
