"Hot News from the Heart of Aela: Forge Fires Fizzle Out in the Broadforge District!"

Dateline: Broadforge! The beating heart of Aela’s smithing district has gone cold! For the first time in memory, the mighty Hearthwells—Broadforge’s legendary, flame-spewing pits—have fallen silent, leaving blacksmiths across the district idle and casting a chilly shadow over the city’s essential forges. Sources say that the problem lies in the ancient Subcity Boilworks, a vast labyrinthine furnace beneath Old Aela. This colossal relic from a bygone age has long been too hazardous to map or maintain, its secrets buried in history. Now, with the fires extinguished and no steam to power Aela’s engines, city commerce stands on the brink of collapse! In a last-ditch effort, Consul Sprokken Lockely has issued a call for brave adventurers to venture into the Boilworks, uncover its mysteries, and reignite the flames that keep Aela alive. Will any heroes step forward to stoke the fires of the Hearthwells once more? Stay tuned for updates on this heated mission!

Adventure Level

This Overclock adventure is designed for three to five 3rd-level characters. Characters who successfully complete the adventure should earn enough experience to reach half of 4th level. While this adventure can be played as part of the broader Overclock campaign it can also be played as a one-shot.

Even if played as a one-shot, the adventure assumes that the party has already made somewhat of a name for themselves, at least in smaller circles, whether that’s due to other adventures in the book or unrelated exports.
