Hextober#18: Hex Sister Nasha

The eldest sister of the trio! She's works as a warden on the Laverre Nature Trail, keeping watch on the most haunted part of the Trail. She's VERY popular with Ghost Pokémon!

Boy this one was a doozy. The goal of this Hextober was to continue sharpening my new style, both in sketching and shading; however, the original composition, if pretty cute, missed something and wouldn't have forced me to use the entirety of what I recently practiced; cue altering it to a full low angle shot perspective, and lemme tell you, perspective was always a weak point of mine, so figuring it all out was a real process!

But I'm honestly very happy with the outcome. :)

On that note, really sorry for the less-than-frequent updates on our normal schedule, my initially fruitless style research sort of morphed mid way into a full return to fundamentals, the reinforcement of which I thought was necessary to actually practice a new style efficiently, and damn was I right!

So I used this hextober to practice it all: perspective, sketching, anatomy, and stylizing my shading and lighting. It all has been without color, and I may try to use the final week of the month to try and apply it all to a color project, and do simpler Hextobers going forward.

Because if the first one (#11) took my 3 hours, this latest one took me two days. :p

Well, yesterday was mostly geometrical drawing (very fun), then composition researches and today the actual painting phase, but still. I started at 9am, and it's presently 00:07 am.

I shall go get some rest.
