Writing Log #26 - It's done. <3

So much happened in the last few weeks, I can hardly believe I was still working on the book at the start of the month. But I was. And now it's done. :)

• Volume 1 - Cover art: Sketch, lines, flats, render

• Volume 1 - All 10 illustrations: Lines, flats, render

• Volume 1 - Ebook production: QA (I hired Vert to create the PDF and EPUB!)

• Volume 1 - Distribution: Early (friend) copies; storefront pre-orders (itchio, Kobo, B&N, Apple, and more)

• Lore docs update: Chapters 5 & 6 (Keeping track of every single subplot and nuance to be addressed again in later volumes because holy hell there's a lot of that lol)

• Website: About, Links, Gallery, Blog (+ first post)

• Misc. work: Blurb, countdown graphics, release date announcement, social media bs, all the little stuff that isn't making the actual book

I love this book. My friends who've already read it loved it too. It officially releases on December 11 - if you're curious, there's li'l previews on itchio and the book storefronts.

To be completely honest, it feels bizarre to me seeing the book up on Kobo and such. All "official" and whatnot. What I cooked really is just all the love I have for Lulu and Alvin, and the result of wanting more stories like the ones I'd personally be looking for. Cool autistic woman and her subby big boi... real...

So, what's next?

In a couple of days, I'll be cleaning up my old art archive (Final™ reminder For Realsies™). The countdown artwork for Volume 1 will be posted starting a week before release. Besides my best attempts at marketing, I'm taking a break from Sanctuary 17223 for a little bit - so that I can return with a clear mind for Volume 2 when I feel ready.

In the meantime, I'll work a little on my other story to keep myself writing. I'm not committing to the full first book; I'd just like to release a preview for the Transhet Jam early next year.
