Teen Titans WIP#2

Alrighty we're trying some new things with the painting process

Recently I've found myself kind of plateauing with my painting so I took some time to learn a new method. We had to take it back to photoshop for this one _(┐「ε:)_

I've started learning how to utilize the mixer brush to get a more painterly feel. I wanted to push the full illustration style I have out of an overly clean anime aesthetic. The second image was a first attempt that I quickly scrapped. I wasn't quite sure what I was doing and still figuring things out. 

After a lot of troubleshooting with photoshops performance issues as well I think I have a decent grasp of how to use the tool properly! We're starting out with a dark block in to which we will add appropriate lighting. 

I've been studying old masters like bouguereau and I hope I can reach even a tenth of that quality in this piece.

This will take a couple more days to complete but I think the end  result will be something I wasn't able to achieve before!
