Kirby ability icons

When you copy an ability in the Kirby games, it usually shows you a fun little square icon in the game HUD to show you what you got. These are taken from multiple games and are just ones I liked the look of. THEY ARE, starting from the top left: BOMB, FIREBALL, CRASH, FIGHTER, HAMMER, and JET.

This was a way for myself to test out a new approach to drawing digitally. After the initial sketches of the icons, I added onto them and I erased, added, and erased over and over til I had what I would call the main line art. It was a more frantic way of "inking" than my usual steady hand, but the move from paper to cintiq (and vice versa) always leaves me feeling like a newborn artist, learning all over again.

Sketching digitally was always more interesting for me cus I can be big and bold and scribbly with it. And move things around too if I didn't like the layout. And I am just trying to keep that same energy going forward. How will that translate into a comic? Heh, well... I guess the answer to that is a classic "Very Carefully" from me.
