I need help.

Hi everyone,

I didn't want to make this post but given the current situation I don't have a lot of options.

What happened?

Wednesday an accident happened, I accidentally spilled a cup full of orange juice on my laptop (the one I use to work on koikatsu, draw, and just about everything else), I forced it to shut down when I heard the sound of the fans inside it scattering the juice all over the insides and couldn't turn it back on after that. I waited until Friday to have a friend of mine who's good with computers take it apart and have a look to see if there was any internal damage.

And there was, seems like a chip blew in the motherboard, and there was corrosion and residue all over the place, thankfully there was no visible damage to the memory area (meaning my files can hopefully be salvaged), but the laptop itself is gone for good.

What does this mean for future Koikatsu work?

Fortunately, I was able to install Koikatsu on my external Hard Drive (I keep the majority of my files there, so a lot of my work is saved, but not all of it) and connect it to my mother's computer, so I'll still be able to do some work, even if it's at slower pace. since this computer, while being able to run koikatsu, is a much older model, and also not mine, so I won't have full time access to it.

And the vast majority of my cards are already up in Mega, most of my work was not lost (with the exception of some unfinished scenes, and the cards related to "My Life's Succs", which I wanted to save and share with you guys once I had more chapters done. So much for that idea...) so at least I'll be able to keep up the daily posts on Pixiv, (I just gotta reach out again to all the commissioners and compile my commission list again, since the original was saved on the desktop and not on the external hard drive.)

Needing help.

As I mentioned a couple of times, the work I do in Koikatsu is my only source of income. and under normal circumstances, I would either have enough money saved up to buy the new laptop, or I'd just use my credit card to buy a new one.

However, two things happened this month: First, I used up the majority of the money in my account to pay-off what was left of my student debt from college (which is a good thing in the long run as now I'm debt free with only my credit card debt left to pay), leaving me in a situation in which I had to start taking a lot of commissions again to make up for what was spent, and still have just enough to do my part at home (contributing with expenses, bills and all that). And earlier this week (like I mentioned in a previous post), My wallet got stolen. and, while I already ordered new credit cards, but those won't be arriving before 10 business days.

Case in point, I need a new laptop in order to keep working efficiently, and no way to buy one at present, so with embarrassment, I ask you guys for your support. I looked up prices and models and found that I should get a laptop that's roughly the same as the one I had (but a little better since mine was a few years old) If I can get roughly 1,250 USD (It's actually more than that. but if I can get that much, I can manage the rest). Since I normally charge around $60 for commissions, I can get this if you guys raise 10 dollars in your pledges (for this month) OR If I can get around 20 new commissions. (I didn't want to just beg without offering something in return, so if enough of you guys can message me for commissions, I'd be happy to honor them as I've always done. I'd just ask for a little more patience since that's going to grow my list by quite a lot, but I'll definitely get through them.)

Anyway, that's my situation, you guys are the ones who allow me to do what I do, I don't take that for granted, and am a little hesitant to ask since I don't want to abuse that good will, but It's a tough situation to be in and I don't see a lot of other options. if any of you guys are willing to help out, whether as a pledge increase for this month or as a commission, please contact me. (Through DM)

Thank you,

Kaos.
