LITTLE LORE #4

Hi! I'm back from filming, so here's a new "Little Lore" to tide us all over until Monday. (Filming? The epic conclusion to the Ravenloft wanderings of the heroes of several worlds, trying to save them all! A baron of Eberron, played by Eberron's creator Keith Baker; the runaway bride of Victorina Von Mordenheim, played by Elisa Teague; a time paladin of another world, played by Tommy Gofton; a certain old mage of Shadowdale, played by me! We lost Melf (yes, Acid Arrow and Minute Meteors fans, THAT Melf), played by Luke Gygax, in the mists, but we did find far too many darklords, a mind flayer spelljamming ship, the Lady of P--- and even Lord Soth! Watch for it on the Six Sides of Gaming channel!) Including an epic final battle that is 20th level characters in a 20th level fray! NOT for the faint of heart (or innards)!!!

Anyhoo...

When half-dragons are born (dragon and mammalian humanoid parents), is it a live-birth, shelled eggs, or does it depend on the mother?

If the mammalian humanoid is the mother, and the birth is successful, the half-dragon emerges as a nine-pound-or-so curled-up miniature half-dragon in a caul that typically ruptures as it comes out, amid a wash of fluid, the caul being very like a soft, thin, rubbery egg around the baby.

If the mammalian humanoid is the father, in just over eighty percent of the cases no pregnancy results, and when it does, the offspring is (at least outwardly) a dragon.
