BMZ - Test (1/10) (WIP & PSD)
Like I said in the main post, this one will make a little more sense with part 2. I'm sure you can all see where this is going though (but for those who don't, just like the last time I showed the age-swapped versions of Boomer and Miles, the background color is a pretty big clue).
I've had this story in mind for a while and I've changed the way I want to tell it quite a bit because between Boomer's Big Date and the Encounter set of strips (where Miles and Zoomer meet) I noticed I slip into melodrama territory sometimes and I don't want to fall back on that every time I want to introduce a conflict. The two month break helped a lot with planning this one out.
The two month break helped experiment with my style a bit, I'm using thicker lineart and different brushes this time and I think the coloring will be a little better from now on (will be more evident in part 2) to separate characters from backgrounds.
You can see on the first sketch panel I was going to have older Miles have tied up long hair under the bandanna but decided against it. He looks fine with it and the blue color helps tell both versions apart very easily.
