Oh man, our boy is at a crossroads! But he's figuring it out, and taking big steps forward

This is a complicated page, and I hope I can break it down without splitting this idea across multiple pages. It's been implied up until now by Cody's narrative that he views himself as straight, or at the very least, defaulted that way due to social expectations. He hasn't been attracted to a man before in a way that he's been able to identify as sexual. But the dissonance has become too strong!

One thing about Cody that I hope has come through in the story is he's not too bright or intuitive, but his model of slow self-reflection and painful honesty is powerful. Little remains hidden from his full regard! It's a very Protestant twist on some of the introspection that Catholicism might imbue, sort of the best of both worlds

Cody reminds me of the motto: "God's mill turns slow but sure"
