To be fair, I'd draw Cody's face too. It's too handsome to go to waste! Maybe I'll update Willy's dialogue to say something like that

A bit of an ambiguous time skip! Cody's a friendly boy, and after the last two folks we see Willy interacting with, it's a breath of fresh air, even if Willy doesn't know quite how to respond

Here we also see the start of Willy's oral fixation. I might put a window or something behind Cody in the first panel to emphasize openness
