Hiiii ~
Last year, I was blown away by how supportive everyone was with the Summer Shorts series. I was really like “okay well this is for me and if people like it, cool, and if they don’t at least I tried something that I really wanted to do” 90% of the first few episodes but then… You really dug it! :D
Ever since the last episode, I had this feeling of the story being over, there being no need for anymore and potentially using the same format for an entirely different story. But thennnn I had a thought this summer. A very “wtf would it even be if we went back?” and wrote close to 3000 words of a plot/outline.
I thought “okay well, that could be great, but let’s see if I want to go back to it” and I did. As I continued to write, I felt there was a way to get back to our Lakeview couple, that honored the “origins” of the story, and still makes the story meaningful, and touching.

Will the format be the same as Summer Shorts including the listener’s perspective?
Yes! Although, there are several cameos from my dear friends so keep an eye out on that.
How many episodes will there be?
I haven’t decided! So far, I have enough for at least 24 episodes, but that may shrink or expand. Since there will be a lot of overlap with the holidays, there’s a temptation to do “holiday specials” but I don’t want to put a ton of pressure on myself to get that done along with the other holiday exclusives.
Is there an end date scheduled?
Nope! I’m going to pace these in a way that makes sense, but still keeps in mind that the holidays are coming up <3 It is quite possible this series extends into 2026.
Are you still making full roleplays?
ABSOLUTELY!
Is the title a nod to Twin Peaks: The Return?

Summary:
There are many times you think about to that Summer in Lakeview. Why things couldn’t work out. Why after committing so much to each other, you could both want such different outcomes in life. She fell in love with Lakeview, and you felt Lakeview was stuck in the past and wanted to find your own path, but you had hoped it would be together.
Years go by, and you both hear things about each other through friends and family. You even try to keep up, but “life” seems to keep getting in the way.
You eventually stop going to Lakeview, and try and find a different path to happiness…
