Aranea Animations - !! Hardware Report !!
Hello~ I hope your week is fine~ Aranea for December of 2023 is here~

Check her out :
I wanted to try something I haven't tried before. Shibari. I've seen several artistic photography, anatomy illustration and even doujin of them. It's...quite tricky. made me use all my stupid brain power on how to use the bone constraints properly. (I'm not a pro animator in case anyone forget). but it was fun.

!!Hardware Report!! R.I.P monitor
No new model this week, because something unexpected happened. I woke up on monday morning only to find my monitor, which is actually just a standard HD TV, dead.

This guy here have been with me for more than a decade. I guess it's just the old age. but at least it's a monitor that's broken not something worse like a PSU. Thankfully, I allocated some of your kind donation to prepare for any kind of hardware failure. So I dId a quick research and ordered a monitor on the same day before I go to work. it's supposed to be here on Tuesday my local time, but it got delayed till Wednesday night, couple hours before I posted this report.
Before the new monitor arrived, I tried to use a spare old TV as a temporary subtitute, but it has worse white color balance than my old Toshiba TV. I usually don't care about sRGB percentage much. If the white balance is yellowish, I could still work with the monitor. But the subtitute TV I was using has too much blue tint. thus I can't make accurate color correction on it and it hurts my eyes after a while. I tried calibrating the color to match my smartphone screen at least, but sadly it still looks bad. and it's not even 720p. so I decided to just wait for the new monitor.
The new monitor I bought to replace my old Toshiba TV is AOC 24G2SPE.

It has good reviews and it's on sale this month. in USD, it's around $116. That's half my monthly paycheck. It's a 1080p monitor and I don't think I need 4k anytime soon nor do I care. color and lighting is my priority.
If I never opened Fanbox / Subscribestar page, It'd take me a quite some time before I can safely buy a new one. and I'd always go for a cheap TV with good enough white balance and brightness/contrast instead of a monitor like this. however, AOC 24G2SPE will be my first proper PC monitor after a long decade of using a TV as one.
So once again I must say,
Thank you for your kind support and donation!!! m(_ _)m
And while we are at it, If you want to know the current PC spec I'm using for animating and rendering in Blender EEVEE, here it is
Motherboard : ROG STRIX Z370-H GAMING
CPU : i7 8700 non K @3.20Ghz
GPU : ASUS STRIX GTX 1080 8GB
RAM : VENGEANCE LPX DDR4 2X8GB 2666Mhz
PSU : ENERMAX Revolution Xt 650w 80PLUS GOLD

Depending on how heavy the scene is, she takes around 6 to 16 second max, rendering a PNG image in 1080p resolution with EEVEE as the render engine. Double that render time if it's in 4k. And worse if it's highly detailed model like one from Stranger of Paradise. The longest render she ever done is for a 20 second long video of Sophia and Neon with 7 hours of total render time in 1080p with EEVEE as a render engine
(a 30 second video is around 930 image renders.)
This is an old rig of mine. and it's still in a good condition. I always clean it once every 3 months. This is my baby. I play too much FF14 and edit gpose screenshots with her.
I pretty much only prioritize the internal. I don't care about anything external like the monitor for example. As long as it has okayish white balance and brightness contrast, it's all good. this applies to my keyboard and mouse as well.
I always cheap out on external hardware and usually only replace them once they are really broken. I don't care about anything else other than internal hardware visual power at the time and still am. Sound is not even considered. I'm using the TV's speaker for everything lol. so I have no idea what HQ audio even like, and I don't even care. for now at least.
I will update you whenever I get a new hardware in the future too. ^^ I'm aiming for at least a dual fan RTX 4070 for easier time in viewport and faster render. it's low power draw means I don't have to replace my PSU. Another alternative would be a used RTX 3070/3080 if somehow my GTX 1080 died before I can get a new RTX 4070. once I upgraded the GPU, then I can slowly replace the CPU+motherboard and ram next.

NEXT UP

it's Llymlaen. I also added more characters for the 20th after. If I have extra time, I'm gonna add another older rigged character.

Thats' it! Thank you for your donation as always! Thank you so much! really, Thank you! m(_ _)m
Take care~
