Birthday art - Partner

I tried to do it the way artists who draw girl characters on Pixiv do, using layer mode while dividing the layers into smaller ones. I've been doing my recent artwork the way I paint with the layer mode set to normal, but I still find the latter easier to do.

I think that Procreate, the software I use, is better suited for the latter type of painting. Photoshop and Clipstudio have more features and are easier to use for the former type of painting.

But can we increase the variation of painting methods with the current method? It seems that trial and error is needed in that area.
