Terraced Rice Paddy Farm (Updated w/ Roofs)
Click here to get the map!
Update: Roof tiles have been added for this pack as WEBPs & have been pre-attached to all Foundry VTT scenes!
Here rests a quiet mountain hamlet buried in a terraced sea of rice paddies — or wheat fields, depending on your taste. Loosely inspired by a variety of terraced fields, especially in mainland China and in southeast Asia. Who will have the high ground?
Thoughts
The storehouse has a trapdoor hidden in it. I wonder what’s down there? A secret chamber? A dungeon? Or just a regular cellar?
I hope someone gets to kick those barrels down the stairs.
This hamlet is probably best for placing at a notable rural crossroads. The residents might pick up on interesting rumors from travelers.
Contents
Rice Fields: Welcome to them.
Wheat Fields: In case rice isn’t your local crop, wheat fields can substitute for rice!
Spring: Planting’s only just begun. For now, pools of water (and resident frogs) fill the terraces.
Autumn: The villagers are ready for harvest, but perhaps not a bloody harvest.
Winter: Ice coats the battlefield! Don’t slip, there’s no fence to catch you.
Dry Fields: A less hazardous farmland to fight on. Nothing’s been planted yet & the fields haven’t been flooded!
Day/Night Variants: Wherever applicable!
All maps are provided with & without square grids in WEBP format. (Please note that while WEBP is compatible with all major VTTs, it may not be previewable in old Windows 10 photo viewers.)
In addition, a Foundry module with a compendium of pre-built scenes for major variants is provided!
Furthermore, full-color PDF files in both single-page and divided poster formats are provided for printing!
The divided poster PDFs are cut into US Letter-size pages; they have guidelines, sheet numbering, & a convenient sheet for sticking them together after you’ve printed them out, and have margins so that you don’t have to be pixel-perfect when cutting with your scissors.
The single-sheet PDFs are suitable for making high-quality prints via print shops & on large-scale printers.
Dimensions
36×54” wide/tall
