Devlog #2: Readying the Kitchen
Hey everyone!
The most recent builds have been released for a bit now, and lower tier patrons have finally gotten to try the first build, so I figured now's a good time for the dev log of what's planned for the next major build.
First, I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who's played, supported, and shared feedback for the project so far.
I never would have expected the game to get this much attention and support. I feel like I probably sound like a broken record at this point, but seriously, thank y'all so much for your interest in this project. The astounding support is definitely inspiring me to try and put everything I can into making sure this game turns out how many of you want to see it! I know we're still early in its development, but seriously, I just can't thank you guys enough. Here's to hoping it turns into something special.
Now, onto important matters. What's next?
Well, for anyone not aware, the last feature poll ended up going to expanding the farm. So, we're finally gonna get inside that barn, building will be expanded on, more interactions with the girls are coming, and of course, a new system: cooking!
Overall, I'd like to rework the feeding system. Instead of just being a random skill check, I'd like to actually have a full system where feeding the girls certain foods that they like or dislike will help the process of getting some weight on them quicker or even other benefits. I'm not sure if the full rework of the feeding system will happen this build, but if I don't end up trying to tackle too many other extra features, I'd like to start working on it.
As for the cooking minigame, it'll be about what you'd expect. Collect ingredients, bring it to the appropriate work station, and voila! But honestly, what do you guys think? Does a more intricate/advanced minigame for cooking sound like fun? Or should we keep it simple?
Regardless, there'll be plenty of food and ways to cook it coming soon enough, so you'll FINALLY have a use for all those wildberries you've been gathering from those enormous dryad farms!
That's... why you planted them, right? For wildberries... right?
But if there's cooking to be done, surely we'll need an expert to get the kitchen ready?

Meet Candace, the Village's Baker!
But her friends call her Candie! Even though she's a bit of an airhead, Candace is a ray of sunshine who makes the village just the slightest bit brighter every day with all the sweet treats she loves to make!
It's not easy keeping your chin up when you live in a cursed magical forest, so Candace always aims to bring a smile to everyone she can!
But unfortunately, S'apphire the witch finds her up-beat attitude and constant energy rather annoying. (Plus, who do you think is to blame for how tight her dress has gotten?)
S'apphire would love to see a girl like her slowed down, but there's just one problem. Candace has a pretty fast metabolism, and she loves being able to eat whatever she wants without gaining a pound. But S'apphire believes that a Bovinity Potion might just be the key to slowing it down a bit! Only one way to find out...
That's right! Cow #3 will be joining the barn soon enough! Hope y'all are excited!
But as for now, that's about it on the update side of things. Once again, thank you to everyone who's been playing, and especially to everyone who's helped find bugs and offer feedback (seriously, the help with patching bugs has been astounding. the game would be a mess if it weren't for some of y'all)
Talk to all of you guys soon once there's more to share! :)
