Project Rori small update (Febuary 15th)(more to come soon)
Hello everyone I hope you're all doing well physically and mentally <3
I wanted to drop just a small little animation related to Project Rori, long story short I had to can or remove all the work I did for the Lizardman due to rig related issues when exporting them as a GLB file (DEF bone issue) for Godot which caused animations inside Godot to not match up with what I did inside Blender.
This Crocodile enemy will be the replacement male enemy to replace the Lizardman enemy type. That said I wanted to announce I will be moving away from a vampire survivors/megabonk NSFW type game in favor of something like Legend of Zelda (specifically something simple like Ocarina of Time).
I realized as I was writing down character motives and ideas for NPCs; it dawned on me that I really would like to world build, so I'll be taking most if not all of my existing work and repurposing it. So instead of a wave type game, we'll have a more casual action type game like Legend of Zelda and really all I need to do is change the controller scheme and auto attack logic, so it won't take long. I also already have the enemy grab logic working completely, so all the systems are in place, I just need to change the spawning logic and player controls.
This change was also needed as lower end computers (tested using a old trash PC) seem to only be able to handle maybe upwards of 40-ish enemies on screen at once. Switching to a adventure type game will allow me to do a heck of a lot more with our enemies and animations without causing lag and with all the optimizations I've made already, I have quite a bit of wiggle room to do quite a bit with VFX and more complex animations!
Attached to this post is the animation that plays before the enemy logic for the croc decides which way to plap your player character. This is also Grab_A, each enemy will have a A or B type grab. Multiple playable characters will still be a thing, we'll have a hub that will allow you to switch which character you want to play as.
Unfortunately the lizardman debacle has set me back at least 2 weeks, I had to recreate all the animations, grabs, etc, so I apologize again for the delay, but I'm at a point where I can start posting animations and working on that again with most of the ground work done already! So more of the usual sexy stuff coming soon~
I've also learned how to rig models proper, to practice I ripped and rigged a character from the game "Wild Assault" (see the render attached to this post), for fun I'll be releasing her here soon, complete with a big ol penus. Soon after I'll have the Worgen done as well for those who were waiting.
As always I appreciate your support and patience, I'm learning and taking each issue as a learning experience so things will only get faster as I get more work done <3
