WIP Spoilers
Shiori video will release whenever the audio is finished :)
I spent some time refining the first scene animation, that's what I am showing today!
and some image previews of the 2nd scene :)
just started working on the 2nd scene for the next video. The animation is still in a very early state, and I don't feel it's very worthy to show right now, so just images for today!
I spent most of my time this month fixing alot of small details for the Shiori video, and rerendering the final video to fix some smaller things that I probably would have left in. Mostly random floating particles, and very small clippings that I missed
EXR
I will be trying to render this new IRyS video in EXR format. I've known about it for a long time, but I never bothered with actually trying it because there is alot of things that seemed like they would be annoying to discover along the way. Mainly opening files and previewing them quickly does not seem to open in default windows image apps...
But, they apparently render faster than PNG, and are smaller in size, and have way better color data
Today's WIP video is in EXR, and I can already see the file size is much smaller! :)
The colors might be slightly off for a while, because i'm pretty sure I did some conversion settings wrong, but that is a problem to fix in post processing, so I do have plenty of time to figure it out :)
HDR
rendering in EXR also makes HDR videos a possibility, and coincidentally my phone has been unusable very recently, and I will finally be upgrading from using a Google Pixel 2 for over 5 years to a Pixel 8, which seems to support HDR on an oled display.
I personally do not care much about mobile content, but I understand it's very popular, and might try adding an HDR mobile camera angle for this next video
There is a proper vertical camera for the Shiori video btw! Mostly because I could not get tilting the camera like I have in the past few videos to look nice, and eventually just decided on making a Vertical camera :)
VR
after over 5 years of waiting, Valve finally announced a new VR headset, the Steam Frame. I will be ordering one as soon as it's available and VR content will finally resume! :)
Initially when I started making videos, I had the intention of making content purely for VR. But, after having to realize all the issues that aren't really solved even to this day with making VR content, I did pretty early on stop making VR variations
I still carry the intentionality in my videos where a large majority of my scenes are POV shots where I do think they would look good in VR
But a bigger issue is actually rendering VR videos. I am very hopeful the method I've found from other creators will work, because I have also been waiting 4+ years for Blender to release Panoramic and fisheye camera lenses for EEVEE, which would make things insanely straightforward! :)
FUNSCRIPT OVERCLOCKING
I should receive the new Handy 2 Pro within the next few months (use my referral link!) and wanted to experiment with the overclocking feature for making funscripts
I did make a variation that should utilize overclocked speeds properly, but I'll most likely not release that until I can properly test it out
I do have an affiliate link, because I do genuinely like The Handy 1, and absolutely recommend it btw :)
It's great value, the company does listen to community feedback, and even provides resources like files for 3D printing attachments
The Handy 2 is still in a preorder state, and I do not have one yet to give a proper review, but again, I can 100% recommend The Handy 1!
(Purchases made when clicking my link give me some money!)
