Before becoming Casey, they were just another survivor in the quarantine. Just not a nice one, as he and his crew were more like to steal supplies than risk infection scavenging for them. There came a time when they set their aims on the Poolguards safeguarded tower, believing they had to have prime loot inside. While sneaking around, one of them broke the heavy locks on a lone door, unaware of the avalanche of nanite ridden merchandise that'd bury them.

That would-be thief became Casey, and after chasing their own friends off in a post-infection mania, woke up to find himself a whole lot shinier.

Casey tried to ditch the Poolguards. but found his mascot trigger exhausting to deal with. In time, their genuine bro-y support broke through his cynicism, and he hangs out at their tower when he's looking for a peace and quiet.

Curiously, he found that he can't catch other nanite infections anymore, as his own nanites purge them. It's a relief because he's happy to admit that he actually thinks he's crazy hot like this. Mascot trigger aside, he likes it enough that he chose to go by "Casey" and leave his old self behind. How much of this is the nanites doing? Unclear. He IS still lucid though.

NANITE STRAIN: PVC Gull, non infectious.

Most nanite strains are easily transitted through (typically sexual) contact, but this one stands out as inherently inert due to it's own directives. "There is only one Casey Gull."

Since the PVC-Gull strain is specifically a single character, it has some fairly extreme mental effects to enforce that. Though Casey is lucid, the nanites will hijack his body and mind to act out the character whenever such a purpose arises. Ex: being seen by 'guests' (anyone other than beach staff). Casey is aware while this happens, but can't control what he says or does until he's no longer around guests. It can be called the 'mascot trigger'. Even while in control, the nanites prevent Casey from swearing or having exposed genitalia. He's figured out workarounds to the latter as he's sensitive to touch and technically naked. A winning combination.

HIS BODY:

Casey's body is entirely composed of PVC material from his skin to his bones. It's resistant to most physical damage, and the nanites mend him quickly. These nanites work tirelessly to ensure he remains a picture perfect "Casey". He's soft and warm, with a constant scent of vanilla, sunscreen and boardwalk fries. His clothing is painted onto his body, and his sunglasses are affixed to his head by a turning pivot. His sandals can come off, revealing a peg in the sole that matches with a socket in the bottoms of his feet. Like a toy. It's not uncomfortable for him, but it sure is for you.
