Character Diary Entry: Nicholas from Dorm Master (#1)
Timeline: Days after (y/n) left Castle Crow (Ep 190)
"These past days have been very draining. As the one who wrote and delivered the letter to King Elio, I found myself caught squarely in the midst of a storm of “You shouldn’t have” and “You should have.” situation.
Some members of the council found my actions that day wrong. They claimed I was too eager to draft the letter to King Elio—going so far as to quote my words: "a change in history." But truly, who wouldn’t be excited to write such a letter? It is a change. How else does one describe such a monumental shift regarding the Nomes more than century-long suffering?
Now they’re weaponizing my reaction, accusing me of inserting personal political views into my duties. But I wasn’t. I know, deep in my heart, that my opinions must remain separate from my sworn responsibilities.
If I had refused to write the letter, that would have been a true breach of duty, one far more in line with the accusations they’ve made.
Fortunately, Her Majesty understood. She said I was simply fulfilling my role, and with that, the queen’s word brought an end to the council’s questioning. I’m deeply grateful. I’m not ready to lose this position, I will never be. I cannot imagine myself doing anything else or ever leaving this castle.
And it seems the rumors were true—wherever the vessel walks, change follows. It was such a lovely honor to meet her/him." - Nicholas
