Comiket 105 Wrap-Up! Here’s to a Great 2025!

Comiket 105 Wrap-Up! Here’s to a Great 2024!
Hello, this is Aimitei Umami!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth at Comiket 105. It was great seeing you all!
Tokyo greeted us with clear skies! Coming from a snowy region, I’m always amazed by the lack of snow in the city?. Every time, I catch myself thinking, “Wow, living here would be great!” and fully enjoy the snow-free experience.
The Day Before: A Stroll Across Rainbow Bridge
The day before Comiket, I decided to take a walk across Rainbow Bridge. Let me just say, it’s huge! I was absolutely blown away by its scale. The wind was so strong it felt like I might get carried away, but the night view was so stunning that it made everything worth it?✨✨. The bridge spans about 3 kilometers, making it a perfect distance for a casual walk. If you have the chance, I highly recommend checking it out!
Clear Skies on Comiket Day! Thank You, Weather!☀️
The weather on the day of Comiket was perfect—bright and sunny! It was a fantastic start to the day. Around 8 a.m., the Rinkai Line was less crowded than expected, and the walk from Kokusai-Tenjijo Station to Tokyo Big Sight went smoothly. Walking under such pleasant weather made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Setting Up: Thank You, My Amazing Helper!
There was a small mishap during setup—I forgot the floor mat! But thanks to the incredible help of my assistant, we managed to get everything ready smoothly. Having someone there to assist makes everything so much easier, especially when it comes to handling both sides of the booth. I’m so grateful for their help!
Meeting Everyone Was the Highlight!
Thank you so much to everyone who came by, from all over the country! It was such a joy to hand out my doujinshi in person and chat with you.
I also loved hearing stories about your hometowns and personal worlds. Every person has their own unique life story, and getting a glimpse of that is absolutely fascinating. I can’t wait to hear more next time—people are endlessly interesting!
Speaking of Comiket itself, the ticket system has really changed the flow of the event. It feels like the crowd is more evenly distributed throughout the day now. It’s much easier to navigate compared to the past when the aisles were so packed that even tables were at risk of tipping over. While we might lose a bit of that chaotic festival vibe, the improved safety and comfort are definitely worth it!
Shopping Time! Exploring the Critique Section✨
I made the most of my shopping time this year! Since the critique section was nearby, I wandered over and discovered a lot of new and interesting works.
That said, the flu seems to be spreading widely this season. I noticed quite a few signs at booths saying the creators were absent due to influenza. It was a stark reminder of how serious the outbreak is. To those affected, I hope you recover quickly! Seeing notices from the medical-themed spaces, where creators couldn’t attend due to their jobs in healthcare, made me reflect on how much we owe to medical workers. It also reminded me how important it is to take care of our health.
Leaving Early to Avoid the Crowds
I decided to leave around 3 p.m. this time to avoid the intense post-closing crowd. Last time, I stayed until the very end and got caught in a massive wave of people. While I wanted to stay longer, an earlier departure felt like the smarter choice given the circumstances. Luckily, the flow of people was still manageable at that hour, and I made it out without any issues!
Thank You for This Year! Let’s Make 2024 Great!
Thanks to all of you, I managed to get through this year—barely, but still! I’m so grateful for your support. My health continues to be a bit of a challenge, but I’ll keep taking things at my own pace. I look forward to connecting with you again next year!
Now, I’m off on a long journey back to my hometown. The year-end snowstorm forecast has me a little nervous, but we’ll see how it goes…
Please take care of yourselves and have a wonderful New Year! Let’s meet again in 2025!
Happy New Year!
