Montagne M2-10 Preview Post

After almost 5 months of intense work, brain-breaking attention to detail and a lot of learning and gathering of tools and skills, it's time to proudly present to you the Montagne M2-10.

Dipping our fingers into paid content, and with good reason as I hope you'll come to understand with the level of detail and quality these vehicles will provide to you and the hours that went into the build.

So what do you get? Let's start with the basics: there are 3 different variations of the same vehicle included for 3 different engine sizes representing the car historically. Maximum effort was put into making the textures, animations and shaders to bring the car to life in as close to a photoreal manner as possible. Physics were done by the maestro Bazza with extensive data gathering by ValentinK through historic books, ACO released data sheets, driver reports, Automation simulations etc. We also went to great lengths to accurately simulate lap times and efficiency/fuel consumption figures around La Sarthe and other relevant race tracks. So it looks the part, drives the part, sounds the part (but expect an update on the sounds in the future since sound samples are hard to come by for niche vehicles).

The proof:

There are no dull textures on the car, nearly every texture has a detail layer.

Interior meshes were modelled in such a way that they represent soft surfaces, cloth, leather..

Additional detail like reflective windshields, dirt and damage maps are also included:

A hotlap video by ValentinK to observe the cockpit animations which include both the pedals, including the throttle cable and the shifter including the mechanism on the car side, and the feet on the driver side of things:

I also animated the right hand putting the lever into each gear but the hand was snapping back to the steering wheel in an unrealistic and jerky way which is sadly a limitation of AC's binary animation system so I reverted to a sequential hand motion. It's not noticeable from the first person view while driving, but VR users can still look down at the lever to check which gear they are in!

Finally I would like to thank you all for your support, your understanding and patience, this is a lot of work and thus can hardly be justified as just a hobby. The dream or goal of doing this professionally is unchanged and every one of you can make a difference. Our team has big plans for the future of historic modding, but more on that once Assetto Corsa Evo hits the markets with modding support.

Any issues you find with the car you can report here in the comments, contact us on Discord or send me a DM. As this is a big project with many, many different aspects to keep track of, I cannot guarantee that everything will go perfectly smooth for everyone. Also expect a sound update with any potential fixes in the future.

Installation is simple, either through Content Manager or dropping the content folder into your ...\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\assettocorsa directory.

Recommended CSP Version: 0.2.7
