angels eve updates and thoughts
I recently played through the game again, and found myself really unsatisfied with the intro section. its not that the idea behind it was bad, or that the dialogue fell flat, it just felt like more time should've past before those scenes.
I did a little study on some rpgmaker games that are fairly popular and played through the first 5-10ish minutes, just to see what pacing they have, and literally 5/7 start with exploring an area. I never disliked this approach, as it gives the player time to adjust to the games world in their own time. I just never paid much attention to it.
I'm rearranging some scenes to make space for something similar, so that it feels less abrupt. I don't have a clear picture of what it'll be like just yet, but I have ideas. Most of them need far more assets than I currently have, so this'll probably be a WIP till the very end lol
I'm putting together a scene that can substitude for now, since playtesters will need a similar experience when going through these sections.
Since these scenes have to take place before the ones currently in game, I'm expanding on one part of the lore. Which is where that new sprite comes in!
An angels uniform changes colours based on the worlds their in, and the default is white. I had sketches of Velina in the base since 2023 actually....
