[MW Pokemon] Enkon - CR 7 Large Elemental (Fire) - $10 Reward
“I offered it a whole stack of firewood, and it was furious. I took it back since it didn’t seem to like it, and it got even angrier! There’s no way to win!”
— Kindel, Well-Meaning but Burnt
Enkon have a similar physiology to that of giant apes—logic dictates that they also share a similar lifespan. Despite this, enkon live far longer, fueling the fire within them with fury and spite to burn long past their bodies’ expiration dates. By all accounts, nearly every enkon should be dead already, but you probably shouldn’t tell them. They’ll only get angry about it.
Too Angry to Die. Originally a particularly hardy species of primates that was brought into the Plane of Fire by poachers trying to make some quick gold, the Beasts struggled to survive in the extreme heat. In a last ditch effort to save their profit margins, the poachers attempted a biomantic transformation to adapt the apes to their new environment, with… debatable success. The creatures were infused with elemental fire, which prevented their deaths but filled their bodies with constant, searing pain. In their new forms, the enkon channeled this agony into unrelenting fury, killing their captors, escaping into the wild, and clinging to life out of sheer spite. As far as anyone has been able to tell, they haven’t calmed down since.
Emotional Shackles. The intense heat and violent rage of enkon are desirable qualities for guard dogs, leading wealthy azers to capture them to use as exotic and intimidating security systems. The shackles the azers forge for these destructive pets absorb and control heat, preventing the apes from destroying too much of their owners’ property. With enough provocation, however, the fury of an enkon can melt even the strongest steel, so azers provide plenty of snacks and soothing music to keep them from getting too irate.
Flames of Fury. The angrier an enkon gets, the more dangerous it becomes, so determining the level of its anger is essential when handling one. Luckily, the colour of its flames is an excellent indicator. When an enkon is calm (or as calm as it can be, which is still seething with fury), its flames burn an angry red with lots of smoke. As its rage increases, the flames move through yellow and into a brilliant white. Blue and violet flames, though rare, indicate a wrath so profound that even standing within the same city block as the enkon is ill-advised.
