The Secret History of Nazi Satanism

In this sequel to "The Secret History of the American Front," I take stock of the phenomena of Nazi Satanism. While this stuff is everywhere nowadays, it has a relatively modern origin. And it's intimately linked to the true precursor to "counterculture fascism," namely Discordianism. Kerry Thornley and co rubbed elbows with this subculture rather early in the game thanks to Discordianism's curious relationship with the Process Church of Final Judgment.

After the Church of Satan and the Temple of Set teased at it, the Abraxas circle and especially the Order of Nine Angles made it a true phenomena by the late 1980s. This spurred a debate between the ToS and the O9A over the "morals" of left-hand path Satanism in that era. Both groups really want you to believe this was something other than cosplay.

Regardless, veterans of the ToS, the O9A, and the Abraxas circle found the perfect venue to push this ideology in the 1990s: Black metal and other forms of extreme music. The world has never been the same.
