Overgrown Tomb & Courtyard
The free archive is attached to the bottom of this post!
This set drops your players into the heart of a collapsed Mesoamerican-style tomb, its sacred geometry fractured and half-buried in jungle rot. Whether the place still hums with ancestral power or has been cracked open by plunderers, it’s built to host climactic encounters, ancient puzzles, or final stand-offs beneath the boughs of forgotten gods!
This is a remaster of a Miscellanea Maps original!
Thoughts
Ideal for any session that needs a dead civilization to wake up angry.
The jungle has receded … but only because something inside the tomb started breathing again.
Local villagers claim the golden idol speaks in dreams & hides a secret. No one who’s gone to listen has returned.
Contents

Overgrown Tomb: With running fountains/filled pools, or with cold, dry basins.
Ritual: An arcane ritual pouring magic into the sarcophagus — or altar, is it?
Portal Chamber: A humming portal rips open & fills the room with brilliant white light. Something monstrous this way comes.
Overgrown Courtyard: Roofs are overrated, & so is an absence of sunlight. This courtyard’s just the entrance to a much larger crypt.
Courtyard Idol: A gigantic stone (or golden) idol sits at the end of the courtyard. Does it hide a secret?
Courtyard Pool: A gorgeous pool sits in these ruins, a submerged tunnel plummeting into the earth below it.
Purple Pool: A gorgeous purple pool. Is it a fountain of youth? Or a no-eyed, no-horned, static purple people-eater?
Crystal Tree Chamber: Far underground, a ghostly blue ruin sits, containing only the glow of a single otherworldly blossom. Some say its leaves are pure sapphire — or perhaps the tree is a ghostly echo of something far more ancient.
Dry Crypt: All the moss is gone, and the ruins are left sullen. Gives the whole place a kind of “holy” vibe useful for other climates.
Day/Night Variants: Wherever applicable!
