reminiscing
as i spend my last few days prepping (panicking?) about spending the next month in europe, i went through some photos from my similar trip last summer. that trip was a huge shift for me. both in the amount of technique that i learned, but also witnessing rope communities outside of my own and how they flow and interact. its exciting to see that in the year since these photos were taken, i can can both see where my skill has improved, but also where each of these moments/ties influence how i tie today.
the first three photos are of @anna.in.rope from Fede @rope.tales2 and Marta's @martatenshiko three day workshop "Beyond Intermediate" at La Gabia in Barcelona. at that point this was the most challenging workshop i'd ever taken, and my first time being introduced to someone who taught pretty much exclusively Naka-influenced technique. it was terrifying and awesome.
the next two photos are from a trade tie with my sweet friend Marcos @marcosmangani , who was my host and tour guide and caretaker during my time in Berlin
the last three photos are of @bbropebttm and I's two days of private tuition with Tamandua @tamanduakinbaku in Berlin. this was my first time doing extended privates with someone, and woo boy does it make your brain feel like its melting, in the most wonderful way.
life is wild and wonderful and i'm so glad i get to spend it doin rope
