[Trinket+ Patrons] Into the Witchfen #1 - The Gloaming Hearth Inn - 3 Adventures for 1st to 4th-Level Characters
Constructed from sturdy dark timber and stone, this inn’s exterior exudes a rugged charm, no doubt weathered by years of exposure to the town's misty climate.
Inside, a large hearth dominates the common room, filling the air with warmth and the scents of spiced stew and fresh bread.
The Gloaming Hearth Inn is a well-known establishment on the outskirts of Crnigrad, situated at the crossroads that lead to the Witchfen and other shadowed territories. Named after the twilight hue that surrounds it at dusk, giving the inn a perpetual sense of evening even in daylight, the inn has become a place of both refuge and mystery. Locals debate whether the inn is blessed by ancient spirits or cursed by Crnigrad's dark past, with some believing it to be haunted.
The inn has a mysterious past, tied to the Valchev family, a reclusive noble lineage who once owned the estate before disappearing nearly a century ago. Known for their connections to the occult, their fate remains one of Crnigrad's unsolved mysteries. Some believe the Valchevs fled after a failed pact with the dark forces of the Witchfen, while others suspect political betrayal. Whatever the truth, the estate was abandoned for decades before being transformed into the Gloaming Hearth by a savvy entrepreneur.
Talia Verrok, the current proprietor, has run the inn for the past fifteen years, building its reputation as a popular destination for adventurers. Though Talia maintains she knows nothing of the inn's eerie history, locals have noticed her reluctance to discuss anything related to the Valchevs or the strange twilight glow that lingers around the building. Several guests have also whispered about certain areas of the inn, particularly the cellar, being off-limits, fueling speculation about what might lie hidden beneath the inn’s shadowed walls.
